Nina is part of the new generation of internet and reality show musicians, with a brand of acoustic ‘indie’ pop that is a mixed bag of folk and pop. Although Peroxide bears a bleached sound, it is carried by her vocal talent, with her voice sitting neatly somewhere between Nanna from Of Monsters and Men and Laura Marling. The lyrics may be naive, but on the whole the album is upbeat and catchy. The repetition and poppy melodies are directed almost solely at teenage girls, but hey, she is one herself and fellow teen girls will enjoy singing along.

An all-female folk band from Norway, comprised of four sexy ladies playing no less than twenty-odd different instruments between them, swapping between those and musical styles every night on stage. Logic dictates that Katzenjammer’s novelty should have worn off by now. Rockland, however, will make you guess again.

Girls Like Us celebrates the cool post-punk sound of the late 70s with these ladies celebrating their own coolness to a maximum. But it’s not a bad thing since it fits to the cool sound. The four-piece from Manchester recalls the roughness of JOY DIVISION or SIOUXIE AND THE BANSHEES. Catchy and energetic lo-fi songs who have no problem with their inner imperfection.

For 'Without the Moon’ , as well as new recordings, Anni delves into some gorgeous creative collaborations from her archive, including a couple of tracks originally released in 1985 on Cabaret Voltaire's Doublevision label. It’s contrasting tracks could be likened to one end of Anni's piano keyboard to the other, 'Burning Boats' with Marc Almond, to 'Scattered Carelessly', (I like that end of Anni’s piano best.) Nick Cave’s incredible 1983 piano blues slo-mo grind ‘Vixo’ all the way through to (Nitzer Ebb/Depeche Mode) engineered by the Paul Kendall - & ‘Come Take My Hand’ produced and featuring Barry Adamson, : "sounding like some vintage Les Disques du Crépuscule poolside obscurity."

The 11 songs that make up this debut album brim with expansive synths and chiming guitar licks, every one of which sounds sonically pristine. Not all of the melodies stick, meaning that the album is a tad uneven, but the band make up for this with some clear standout cuts; band member Louise Burns (a respected solo artist in her own right) takes the lead and channels Kate Bush on the swooning "Jewel," and she conjures up moody drama when she harmonizes with frontman Matthew Lyall on the closing "Time to Kill."

Under the cover of night, a caped crusader breaks into a building to save the world from black-and-white monotony—and that’s not a metaphor. The animated music video for Yuna’s “Pink Youth” (ft. Little Simz) follows Yuna as a flying vigilante, fighting bulky robots in a bid to restore color to the universe, while her vocals on the track soar just as high as her character.
It’s just one of the many fun, bright songs that compose “Rouge,” the latest studio album from Yuna. Raised in Kuala Lumpur, she became an international star in 2012 after dropping the single “Live Your Life” on her debut, self-titled EP. “Rouge” is Yuna’s first full-length album release since her immensely popular “Chapters” in 2016.
